SPRING OPEN HOUSE WEEK

Waterloo Cooperative Preschool will be accepting registrations for Fall 2011 shortly. In anticipation of opening registrations for this fall, we would like to invite you all to our annual Spring Open House Week.
Our Spring Open House Week will run from March 28th to April 1st. The times are as follows:
- March 28 and April 1 - 9:30am-12:00pm
- March 29, 30, 31 - 9:30am-3:30pm

Nancy Whittemore awarded ECE Award

Waterloo Cooperative Preschool is thrilled to announce that our head teacher, Nancy Whittemore is the proud recipient of the Exceptional Early Childhood Educator Award for 2010. This award is sponsored by the Child Care Network of Waterloo Region and awarded to a deserving teacher each year who has demonstrated excellence in 4 key areas:
- Support in all areas of child development
- Innovation and/or creative practices
- Involvement with parents, families and the community
- Mentoring or interactive qualities
The award was presented on Wednesday, October 20th at the Raising The Bar on Quality Fall Focus event at Bingeman Park, an annual event recognizing excellence in childcare in Waterloo Region.
Nancy has also been nominated for the Prime Minister's Award of Excellence in Early Childhood Education. Winners for this award will be announced Spring 2011.
We would like to take this opportunity to recognize Nancy's achievements in her field, and also to congratulate her on her win and nomination for these prestigious awards. We are proud to have her as a teacher at Waterloo Cooperative Preschool!
New Enhanced Learning Program at Waterloo Cooperative Preschool

Waterloo Cooperative Preschool is thrilled to announce the introduction of a new program for our Preschoolers which will begin running Wednesday afternoons in October 2010. The program is an enhanced program which will have special focus on science and language.
Children will explore the world around them using discussion and science experiments. They will also use tools like the Jolly Phonics program (which is currently also used in schools in JK and SK) to explore language and enhance their language development.
